“Because you have obeyed my command to persevere, I will protect you from the great time of testing that will come upon the whole world to test those who belong to this world. I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take away your crown.”
Revelation 3:10-11. (NLT)
“But you must continue to believe this truth and stand firmly in it. Don’t drift away from the assurance you received when you heard the Good News. The Good News has been preached all over the world, and I, Paul, have been appointed as God’s servant to proclaim it.”
Colossians 1:23. (NLT)

Have you ever been faced with a situation, and you wanted to just give up? Have you ever been hurt to your core, and you wondered, where is God, and you ask the question, what am I supposed to learn in this? Have you prayed and prayed for a change in family dynamic(s) and no change took place and yet, admonished to be steadfast and persevere in the faith!
Perseverance has been well defined as “courage stretched out.” It is a steady persistence in a course of action, a purpose, a state, etc., especially in spite of difficulties, obstacles, or discouragement.
I am in the process of writing a chapter for an Anthology, entitled “The Power of Perseverance”.
I am challenged in my study and preparation, to say the least. God is faithful and He often brings us out of difficult and painful situations. However, God is sovereign, and He often answers our prayers as no, and wait. The Word of God has much to say about Perseverance in several different frameworks. The Scriptures clearly teach that those who “overcome” and persevere in the faith, remain grounded and steadfast, and are not moved away from the hope, will inherit eternal life.
Even more often He calls us to a courageous and enduring faithfulness, in the midst of our challenges, trials, and tribulations of life. We are to be holy, blameless, and above reproach. We are to continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel.”
How Do You Develop Perseverance In Your Life?
~ Perseverance is obeying God’s direction even when it does not seem to make sense or produce the desired results. Joshua 6:1-20.
~ Perseverance is the task of Christians to persevere and to finish the task which is rooted in God’s call. Nehemiah 6:1-15.
~ Perseverance is what turns distress into maturity. James 1:2-4
~ Perseverance in good works does not produce salvation. Rather, Perseverance results from our faith in God. James 5:10-11
~ Perseverance reveals the sincere Believers in Christ and the genuineness of our faith. To believe in Jesus and stand “firm to the end” will take Perseverance because our faith will be challenged. The hard places of life and severe trials will sieve true Christians from deceitful believers. We are not saved by being steadfast and firm in our faith, but our courage and hope do reveal that our faith is real. Our abiding to the end does not earn our salvation but reveals us as already saved.

HEART: The Doctrine of the Perseverance for Christians is founded and rooted in the promise in which says, “He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ” Philippians 1:6b. The Heartbeat of Perseverance, according to the Word of God, is not only enduring situations of the difficulties and craziness of life, but overcoming them with obedience, hope, and joy.
FATHER GOD: Thank You Father for living in us helping us to remain courageous and hopeful to the end. Without You Father and our enduring faithfulness, we could easily be blown away by the winds of rejection, unbelief, and failure. Thank You for our Salvation allowing us to be steadfast and firm in our faith, in the Precious, Powerful and Preeminent Name of Jesus Christ our Savior and Lord, Amen!
