“Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbor as thyself.” Luke 10:27 (ASV)
“I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” Galatians 2:20 (NIV)
Many years ago, before I moved to Michigan, my brother Harold preached at my father’s church from Galatians 2:20! From that day I fell in love with that Scripture because as a young married lady, that Sunday I needed to be reminded that any effort in my flesh to love in difficult situations was impossible.
Praying with one of my prayer partners this week, the song we sang in the choir as youngsters “God Specializes” fell in my spirit and it has been in my spirit all week. The song says that God Specializes in things that seem impossible! WOW! God is simply AWESOME!
LOVE CHANGES EVERYTHING. The Bible has much to say about LOVE and the study is inexhaustible! The New International Version records the word LOVE 744 times! LOVING GOD with our HEART, SOUL, MIND, and STRENGTH is the Foundation of ALL Other LOVES!
~ The only people who can give the GOD KIND OF LOVE are those Who KNOWS GOD through His Son JESUS CHRIST! He pours this Love in our hearts at the moment we receive His Salvation! He gives us the power through the ministry of the Holy Spirit!
If we LOVE, “IF or BECAUSE,” Instead of “IN SPITE OF”, then we have NOT yet learned to LOVE GOD the way He LOVES US!
RX: A CRUCIFIED ♥️ HEART
Galatians 2:20 “Christ’s life showed me how and enabled me to do it. I identified myself completely with him. Indeed, I have been crucified with Christ. My ego is no longer central. It is no longer important that I appear righteous before you or have your good opinion, and I am no longer driven to impress God. Christ lives in me. The life you see me living is not “mine,” but it is lived by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” (MSG)
~ HOW ABOUT YOU? Are you living a crucified life in Christ? This life will give you the ability to LOVE the God kind of LOVE ~Agape Love!
FATHER GOD: Thank You for Your LOVE! Help us to be reminded that it is dangerous to just any kind of way before You Father. Help us to be reminded of Your Sacrifice on the Cross, how You suffered, bled, and died just for us. Help us to be reminded of the consequences of ungodly behavior and the price is costly. Help us remember Galatians 2:20, in the Precious, Powerful and Preeminent Name of Jesus Christ our Savior and Lord, Amen
