The Heartbeat of God’s LOVE

February 21, 2021

“And now these three remain: Faith, Hope, and Love. But the greatest of these is LOVE.”  1 Corinthians 13:13 (NIV)

This is my commandment, that ye love one another, even as I have loved you.  Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. John 15:12-13. (ASV)

Continuing with the theme of LOVE ~ LOVE Changes everything.

The continued review and study of LOVE have been rather challenging this month.  Reading John 15:12-13, reminded me of the Scripture above that says, “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”  WOW!  What a reminder of God’s commandment.

~ Some time ago talking with my friend Karen, one of the ladies on our Tuesday & Friday prayer call, I remember her reminding me of what the Word of God said, we must love others enough to die for them. Hmmm, at the time I said to myself, really God!  I know You told us to LOVE others, and You will give me the power to do just that however being willing to lay down my life for others, now God I need further revelation on this! No, Seriously, I knew what the Word of God, said and I knew God commanded us to LOVE but this dying command – Lord HELP ME!

~ Jesus was talking to Christians in John Chapter 15.  As Believers in Christ, we have the power of the Holy Spirit to do anything He has commanded.

Again, I am reminded of the Power of LOVE!  We may not have to die for someone literally, however, we can demonstrate sacrificial love, loving, helping, encouraging, and giving sacrificially. It is only the Spirit of God who can produce such love in our lives. We must love each other sacrificially, as Jesus loved us. He loved us enough to give his life for us. (Romans 5:7-8).

RX: A LOVING ♥️ HEART

This is my command: Love one another the way I loved you. This is the very best way to love. Put your life on the line for your friends. You are my friends when you do the things, I command you. I’m no longer calling you servants because servants don’t understand what their master is thinking and planning. No, I’ve named you friends because I’ve let you in on everything I’ve heard from the Father.” John 15:12-15. (MSG)

HOW ABOUT YOU? Are you willing to obey God and sacrifice for the good of others, even to death?   This is the test.

FATHER GOD: Thank You for Your Sacrificial LOVE. HELP us to OBEY your Word and do as You have commanded, in the Precious, Powerful and Preeminent Name of Jesus Christ our Savior and Lord, Amen.
