The Heartbeat of Divine Purpose

 August 8, 2021

“But my life is worth nothing to me unless I use it for finishing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus the work of telling others the Good News about the wonderful grace of God.”

Acts 20:24 (NLT)

There are times in life when we have asked ourselves, God, why am I here, what is my divine assignment, am I walking in my calling and God’s divine purpose, and others! One thing is for sure, you are not here by accident, and every life matter to God!  Scripture is very clear as to what our purpose in life should be. Solomon, as one of the wisest men who ever lived, discovered the futility of life when it is lived only for this world. Solomon says in Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 “Here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep His commandments, for this is the whole duty of man. For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil.” He is saying that life is all about honoring God with our thoughts and lives, thus keeping His commandments, for one day we will stand before Him in judgment. So, part of our purpose in life is to fear God and obey Him.

Sadly, many are wasting precious time being self-absorbed, angry, spiteful, focusing only on material possessions and power/control, living in the past, blaming others and/or life’s circumstances for where they are in life, wondering who loves or does not love them or giving too much value on what others think.  Jesus said if you belong to me STOP!  You can make your divine assignment godly easy or hard.  God will do exactly what He says in Philippians 1:6, “Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”

What does God have to do to get your attention for you to fulfill His assignment?  Several years while attending a USANA, Regional Conference, in Orlando, Florida, I had the privilege and honor to personally meet one of the speakers, Nick Vujicic, an Australian Evangelist.  If you are not familiar with him, he was born with no arms or legs.  I was amazed at how powerful he was as he spoke.  Listening to him was not only convicting, but it was also a humbling experience. Part of his testimony was how he prayed to God to give him arms and legs. God did not answer his prayer and later he tried to drown himself in the bathtub.   He later gave his life to Christ at the age of 15.  Today, he is in his late thirties, graduated from a university started his own business, has a wife and son, and shares the message of HOPE and the gospel of Jesus Christ to millions, and yes with no arms or legs.

 RX: A REWARDED HEART

Luke 6:45. “A good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart, and an evil person produces evil things from the treasury of an evil heart. What you say flows from what is in your heart. What we value in life permeates our hearts, our minds, and our very existence, and it inevitably comes out in our speech and actions. (NLT)

Whatever your life is bound by is what you consistently speak about! It is ONLY wealth and power or other things? ️Our purpose is to be inspired by vision as to how God can use us in accomplishing His purposes.

FATHER GOD:  Thank You for Your patience with us. Forgive us for not being diligent in fulfilling our divine purpose in life. HELP us to obey Your Word, glorify You, enjoy our fellowship with You, and have good relationships with our brothers and sisters in Christ; in the Precious, Powerful, and Preeminent Name of Jesus Christ our Savior and Lord, Amen.
