The Heartbeat of Defining Moments

June 20, 2021

O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory above the heavens. When I consider Your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon, and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man (woman)that You are mindful of him, the Son of Man that you care for him? O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!”

Psalm 8:1,3-4,9 (NIV)

~ What are some Defining Moments (Kairos Moments) in your life?  An aspect of Kairos Moments are defining moments of opportunity when God moves in and through our lives, revealing the people, experiences that change our perspective and our lives forever. These are transformative moments we need in that season of our lives.

~ Fatherhood was one of the first responsibilities God gave men! On this Father’s Day, one of the defining moments (Kairos Moment) in my life was many years when my father was invited to come to Michigan and preach at my church.  He preached from the messianic psalm, chapter 8. Every time I read this Scripture; I am reminded of the Sermon he preached. To this day, his message blesses my life-affirming the humanity of Christ and His ultimate victory as His children.

~ Allow me to reflect on Psalm 8 and what it means to me! Because God is so mindful of us, He wants us to catch a vision of who He is and what He requires of us as well as what He can accomplish and finish in our lives when we TRUST HIM and give HIM PRAISE!  He LOVES us so much that He crowns me with Glory and Honor.  God requires of me a response of resounding praise!

Today our Father is 98 years, and we are blessed to have him with us.  What is a Godly Father? The Bible defines what a Godly Father is.

  1.   A godly father knows God and Loves His Wife as Christ Loves the Church! Ephesians 5:25, 28)
  2.   A godly father takes responsibility for his children’s spiritual training and is continually aware of his influence, (1 Timothy 5:8).
  3.   A godly father is consistent and disciplines his children appropriately, (Proverbs 13:2418:19).
  4.   A godly father models selfless service and will lead, (Matthew 20:28).
  5.   A godly father is a man under authority and does not allow himself to be controlled by outside influences, (Ephesians 5:18).

1 Timothy 5:8.Whoever does not care for his own relatives, especially his own family members, has turned against the faith and is worse than someone who does not believe in God.” (NCV)

FATHER GOD: Thank You for Godly Fathers.  We give you a Resounding Praise for all Obedient Fathers and pray for those who seek to become the God desires of them!  in the Precious, Powerful and Preeminent Name of Jesus Christ our Savior and Lord, Amen.
