“But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us.” 2 Corinthians 4:7 (NKJV)

But in a great house, there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonors. If a man, therefore, purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work. 2 Timothy 2:20-21 (KJV)
God has created each of us for a purpose, His purpose! Make no mistake our purposes in life are unique, and some are more outwardly glamorous than others. However, in God’s eyes, the most important question is not how impressive your purpose is, but whether or not you are allowing God to use you as a vessel for His glory! As Believers in Christ, we all have one unique purpose, of sharing His message of the gospel! Confronted by the Holy Spirit this week, I had to ask myself, what kind of vessel am I? ! Am I walking in my God-ordained purpose and plan for my life?
What Kind of Vessel Are You? Are you a vessel poured out for Christ? What has God told you personally to do and you have not done it? What has God said in His Word for you to do as a Believer in Christ and you have not done it? Are you on cruise control or tiptoeing through life more concerned about yourself than HIS divine plan and purpose being fulfilled through you? The life God gave you was for His purpose, not yours. IT IS SIMPLY NOT ABOUT US ~ IT IS ALL ABOUT HIM!
What did the Apostle Paul mean when he penned 2 Corinthians 4:7, “we have this treasure in earthen vessels so that the surpassing greatness of the power will be of God and not from ourselves.” What is this treasure in earthen vessels? There are some translations that say “jars of clay”). This treasure is the glorious gospel of Jesus Christ. We are just “earthen vessels and we carry this precious and glorious gospel in our earthen vessels. That is why Paul says, “For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake.”
Sadly, many preach their gospel and not the treasure that was deposited. If Jesus Christ is not glorified in the message, the earthen vessel wasted precious time preaching his or her own message. The best that can be said of us is that we are just servants. God places His precious treasure of the gospel, the message that frees people from sin, in perishable containers; that is, in human beings. The message of freedom that God had entrusted to us would last much longer than their frail bodies. Why would God do this? Because he delights in empowering the weak in order to confound the strong.
God Is Still Looking For Vessels! He is looking for vessels who will be willing to be poured out for HIM! He is looking for vessels who are willing to adjust their lives to His revealed plan. He is looking for vessels who are motivated by the word of God and willing to be measured by the will of God and not waste time praying and fasting about something He has already told us to do or praying for something that is not His will. If He said NO, there is no need to pray!
Research shows that 80% of Christians understand that have a responsibility to share their faith and 68% have never shared their faith. God is looking for vessels who are not consulting with everyone before they surrender to HIM as manifested by their walk with God. We will NEVER be satisfied or have joy until we are walking in God’s divine purpose, doing what we are called to do and that is to share this “precious treasure” with the world!

A VICTORIOUS
HEART God is honored when we make the choice to choose HIM! When Christ captivates our hearts and takes up residence in our lives, we don’t have the victory, we are the victory! We become a living demonstration of His victory over sin, spreading the sweet aroma of Christ. When people have an encounter with those who live in victory, they meet the VICTOR, JESUS, the CHRIST!
FATHER GOD: Thank You, Father, that you have a plan and purpose for our lives. Thank You for the precious treasure deposited in our “earthen vessels” to share with the
everyone who does not know you as personal Lord and Savior, in the Precious, Powerful and Preeminent Name of Jesus Christ our Savior and Lord, Amen!
