“The Lord will fight for you, while you keep silent.” Exodus 14:14 (NASB)
“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” Matthew 6:33 (NASB)

Have you ever found yourself carrying things that don’t belong to you, worrying about outcomes, trying to fix people, solve problems, or even worry about or try to predict the future? Somewhere along the way, we cross an invisible line between our role and God’s responsibility. And that’s when the weight becomes unbearable.
I remember a time when I couldn’t understand what God was doing. My mother, strong, loving, and the heart of our home, passed away and left my father, a faithful Pastor, with seven children to raise alone. At that time in my young Christian life, there was no part of me and in my finite mind that I could see any good in her early death. I didn’t just grieve her absence; I wrestled with God’s plan. I asked questions that had no answers. I stared into a future that felt uncertain and unfair. Why would God allow this to happen? Why would He take her at this time? Why now?
For years, I carried those questions like they were mine to solve. But over time, and through prayer and spiritual maturity, I began to see what I couldn’t see before: that some things are not for us to fully understand; they are simply God’s business. Was it still hard? Yes, but it was still God’s business!
After an interesting encounter this past week, I had to again remind myself of that truth: not everything that concerns us is ours to understand or attempt to control. Some things are simply God’s Business, and He is in control.

There are things in life we were never meant to carry or try to control.
- The timing of our breakthrough
- The heart change in someone who wronged us
- The justice we feel entitled to
- The restoration we long for
- The results of our obedience
That’s not our business. That’s God’s Business!
Be assured, when we attempt to take on God’s Business, we grow weary, frustrated, and anxious. Why? Because we were never designed to manage what only God can handle. Our job is obedience, faith, and trust, His job is the outcome.
Jesus Himself said in Matthew 6:33, “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”In other words, “You handle your part and God will handle His.”
It’s God’s Business To:
Orchestrate the process of healing, even when it feels slow.
Redeem what was lost or broken, in His time and His perfect way.
Deal with those who have wronged us, vengeance belongs to Him, not us noted in Romans 12:19. ”Dear friends, never take revenge. Leave that to the righteous anger of God. For the Scriptures say, “I will take revenge; I will pay them back,” says the Lord. (NLT)
Reveal the truth in His timing, even when we want answers now.
Provide the resources and strength, for what He’s called us to do.
Call people to repentance and change, we plant and water, but God gives the increase noted in 1 Corinthians 3:7. “It’s not important who does the planting or who does the watering. What’s important is that God makes the seed grow.” (NLT)
Turn what was meant for evil into good, that’s God’s specialty, not ours! Genesis 50:20 reminds us, “You intended to harm me, but God intended it all for good. He brought me to this position so I could save the lives of many people.” (NLT)
Write the next chapter of your story, even if the current one is painful.
YOUR HEART
CHALLENGE: Ask Yourself!
- What situation am I currently treating as my business that’s actually God’s?
Think about the burden you keep praying about, but also keep trying to fix, figure out, or force. Is it a person? A decision? A timing issue? Ask yourself: “Did God ask me to control this, or trust Him with it?” - What changes when I truly release it? When you let go of what was never yours to carry, peace rushes in. Clarity follows surrender. Releasing it opens the door for rest, because trust and anxiety cannot coexist. What would your day look like if you truly gave it to God?
- How can I be reminded daily to stay in my lane and let God do His Business? It may take a visual reminder, a scripture on my mirror, or even a whispered prayer: “God help me to stay out of Your business and realign my heart with trust instead of tension?
Ask Yourself! Are you tired of carrying what isn’t yours? Let God handle it. Your role is to obey, trust, and rest in His sovereignty. He’s faithful in every detail, even when we don’t see the full picture yet.

A CONTROLLED
HEART: Be reassured today! When we seek God, we’re not just asking for solutions, we are surrendering to the Source. The more we align our hearts with His, the clearer His voice becomes. His answers don’t just fix problems; they transform our lives. They deepen our faith, teach us endurance, and lead us to His perfect will.
PRAYER: Father God, thank You for Your authoritative, inerrant, and inspired Word that gives us Your response to our questions. Father, help us release what we cannot control. Help us to release to Your hands, Father, the areas of our lives we have been trying to control. Remind us daily that the timing, the outcome, and the hearts of others are not ours to manage. Teach us to stay in our lane, obey, and trust that You are more than capable of handling everything else. It’s Your business, Father, and we trust You, in the Precious, Powerful, and Preeminent name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord. Amen.
