“Answers ~ Trusting the One Who Knows”

April 27, 2025

“Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.” Jeremiah 33:3 (NIV)

“My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine.  For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:8-9 (NLT)

Has there ever been a time in your life when you longed for answers, real answers, not from people, but from God? Have you ever drifted into “what if” moments, imagining what it would be like to have a fireside conversation with God?  Yes, the Creator of the Universe, and Savior of the world? The One who is Omnipotent (all-powerful) and controls everything. The Omniscient God  (all-knowing)?  That God doesn’t just give answers, He is the Answer.

We live in a day filled with countless questions, where society is desperate for answers. Maybe it was in the middle of a loss, a delay, a disappointment, or a season of uncertainty. We live in a world that moves fast and expects instant solutions. But divine answers don’t always come on demand, and when they do come, they don’t always look the way we imagined.

The questions we carry often come wrapped in silence, tears, or long nights. Some questions are simple, but others pierce the deepest parts of our hearts – hearts waiting, seeking, or wondering!  You may be asking:

  • God, why did this happen?
  • What do I do next?
  • God, are You there?
  • When will God show up in my situation?
  • When will things change or get better?

We have access to endless information at our fingertips: Google, articles, and podcasts, but the questions that matter most require divine insight. Only God can speak into the places that human answers can never reach. He always answers in love, wisdom, and in alignment with His perfect will.

There are countless testimonies of prayers answered: Diseases healed, exams passed, repentance and forgiveness granted, relationships restored, hungry children fed, bills paid, and lives and souls saved through the efficacy of prayer. So, yes, there is plenty of evidence that God answers prayer. Though much of it is personal and subjective, it is no less powerful for those who have experienced His hand at work.

However, as Believers in Christ, we recognize that not all answers come instantly, and not all answers come in the form we expect. Sometimes, God’s answer is “yes,” sometimes “no,” sometimes “wait,” and sometimes, a beautiful redirection.

Have you ever thanked God for not answering some requests you were asking?  I praise Him for loving me enough to withhold what I thought I needed but didn’t.

God doesn’t just answer prayer ~He is the Answer.
He doesn’t just solve problems ~ He offers Himself.

I remember a difficult season when I cried out to God, asking, “Why?” He didn’t give me an explanation. Instead, He gave me something far greater, His Peace. There are times when PEACE is greater than an explanation!

Jesus said in John 14:6: “I am the way and the truth and the life.”  Many times, when we seek answers, what we’re really seeking is clarity, purpose, peace, direction, all of which are found in Him.

God promises to answer by revealing great and unsearchable things.  Things we could never uncover on our own. The Prophet Jeremiah in 33:3 reminds us, “Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.”  God invites us to come to Him, not just with complaints or desperate pleas, but with a sincere heart that trusts His Omniscience, trusting that He hears, sees, and will respond in His perfect way and timing.

Trusting God is learning to put our hands in His hand and just keep walking with Him even the path is dark. It means telling Him about our doubts, our concerns, our fears – and also telling Him, “Yet, Lord, I trust You.”

Isaiah 55:8-9 reminds us that God’s ways and thoughts are higher than ours.
Even when we don’t understand His answer, we can trust His heart.

It’s not about getting any answer, it’s about getting God’s answer.  When God answers, He answers with TRUTH!

His answers bring peace even in chaos.

His answers realign us with His purpose.

His answers may stretch our faith, but will always strengthen our walk.

When we wait on God for an answer, it’s not wasted time, it’s divine preparation. He is getting us ready for His answer and walking in His Truth!

YOUR HEARTCHALLENGE: You may be in a season right now where God seems silent. But silence is not absence.

  1. What questions are you carrying into this season?
  2. Have you invited God into the process, or have you been trying to figure it all out on your own?
  3. Are you willing to trust His answer even if it’s not the one you expected?
  4. What answer have you been seeking from God?
  5. Are you willing to trust His timing and His way?
  6. What has God already spoken to you that you may have overlooked?

His delay is not denial. He is working, even in the waiting!  Remember “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6.

A SURRENDERED HEART:  Be reassured today! When we seek God, we’re not just asking for solutions, we are surrendering to the Source. The more we align our hearts with Him, the clearer His voice becomes. His answers don’t just fix problems; they transform our lives. They deepen our faith, teach us endurance, and lead us to His perfect will.

PRAYER:Father God, thank You for Your authoritative, inerrant, and inspired Word that gives us Your answers to our questions. Lord, we come to You with questions in our hearts, and we trust that You are not just the One who answers, but we trust that You are the Answer. Help us to rest in You as we wait. Help us recognize Your voice and Your hand, even when the answer is different than what we expected. We believe You are faithful, and we trust that You will show us what we need to know, when we need to know it, in the Precious, Powerful, and Preeminent name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord. Amen.
