MOTHER'S DAY - COVER 5-26

From Quiet Strength to Purposeful Living ~ A Mother’s Legacy of Faith, Strength, and Perseverance

 May 10, 2026

“She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue. He looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her.”  Proverbs 31:26-28 (ESV)

In today’s world, many women carry more than one title. Many carry the title of mother, caregiver, businesswoman, ministry leader, counselor, provider, encourager, and others. And somewhere between meeting deadlines, helping others, serving family, answering calls, and carrying responsibilities, many women silently ask themselves: “How do I balance it all without losing myself?”

Mother’s Day carries many emotions. For some, it is a joyful celebration filled with love, laughter, and gratitude. For others, it may carry memories, grief, sacrifice, exhaustion, or reflection. Yet no matter what season we find ourselves in, today reminds us of the incredible influence of a mother’s heart.

As I reflected on Mother’s Day, my thoughts returned to my own mother (excerpts from “Prayers & Inspiration for MOM-preneurs” Anthology), in which I shared my mother’s life and legacy.  My mother’s life was tragically cut short at the age of 43, yet the lessons she left behind continue to shape my life even now. She was not an entrepreneur in the traditional sense, nor did she build a corporate empire. However, she possessed something far greater: a quiet strength, unwavering faith, resilience, and the ability to carry enormous responsibility with grace.

As a pastor’s wife, she balanced family, ministry, service, and the unseen emotional demands that often come with caring for others. Though the language of “work-life balance” was not commonly used during her time, she lived the reality of it every day.

Watching her taught me something powerful: true strength is not always loud. Balance is not about doing everything perfectly. It is about remaining spiritually anchored while faithfully carrying life’s responsibilities.  Sometimes strength is found in the quiet sacrifices no one sees; the prayers whispered late at night, the tears wiped away before helping someone else, the perseverance to keep going when life feels heavy.

One of the greatest lessons my mother taught me was the importance of faith. In the face of adversity, she never wavered in her trust in God’s purpose and plan. Her unwavering faith instilled in me the courage to move forward even when the path seemed uncertain.

As women, mothers, caregivers, ministry leaders, and working women, many of us carry or have carried enormous responsibilities. We often pour into others while neglecting our own emotional, spiritual, and physical well-being. We try to balance family, work, ministry, relationships, and personal struggles while still showing up for everyone else. But today, I believe God wants to remind us of something important: You do not have to carry everything alone.

Many women have mastered the art of appearing strong while silently carrying weariness in their hearts. Yet God never intended for us to live emotionally depleted while trying to sustain everyone around us. My mother’s life reminds me that balance is not about perfection; it is about remaining anchored in God while navigating life’s responsibilities.

Her quiet perseverance also taught me that accomplishments, titles, or recognition do not merely measure success. True success is found in the lives we touch, the faith we live, the love we give, and the legacy we leave behind. Even now, years later, her influence still speaks.

This Mother’s Day, I honor not only my mother’s memory but the countless women quietly carrying families, businesses, ministries, dreams, disappointments, and responsibilities while still showing up with love and strength.

To every mother, every spiritual mother, every grieving mother, every exhausted mother, every woman trying to balance it all,  God sees you. He sees your sacrifices, your faithfulness, He sees the tears no one else notices, and He sees the strength you sometimes forget you possess.  Your life is leaving a legacy far greater than you may realize.

“My mother taught me that true success is not simply what you build with your hands, but what you leave in the hearts of others.”

“The greatest legacy a mother leaves is not perfection, but the strength, faith, and love that continue speaking long after she is gone.” As I reflect on that question, my thoughts often return to my mother.

HOW TO TREAT MOTHERS?

Honor And Respect Your Mother, As God Commands.

Exodus 20:12 ~ “Honor your father and mother. Then you will live a long, full life in the land the Lord your God will give you.”

Leviticus 19:3 ~ Each of you must show respect for your mother and father, and you must always observe my Sabbath days of rest, for I, the Lord, am your God.”

Provide For Your Mother and Care for Her.

John 19:26-27 ~  “When Jesus saw his mother standing there beside the disciple he loved, he said to her, “Woman, he is your son.” And he said to this disciple, “She is your mother.” And from then on, this disciple took her into his home.”

Matthew 15:5 ~  “You say, ‘You don’t need to honor your parents by caring for their needs if you give the money to God instead.”

1 Timothy 5:3-4 ~ “The church should care for any widow who has no one else to care for her. But if she has children or grandchildren, their first responsibility is to show godliness at home and repay their parents by taking care of them.”

Bless and Praise Our mother.

Proverbs 31:28 ~ “Her children stand and bless her. Her husband praises her.”

Treat your mother with kindness and thankfulness.

Proverbs 19:26 ~  “Children who mistreat their father or chase away their mother are a public disgrace and an embarrassment.”

Proverbs 20:20 ~ “If you curse your father or mother, the lamp of your life will be snuffed out.”

Proverbs 30:11 ~  “Some people curse their father and do not thank their mother.”

Bring Joy To Your Mother By Being A Wise Child.

Proverbs 23:22-25 ~ “Listen to your father, who gave you life, and do not despise your mother when she is old. Buy the truth and do not sell it; get wisdom, discipline, and understanding.  The father of a righteous man has great joy; he who has a wise son delights in him. May your father and mother be glad; may she who gave you birth rejoice!”

HEART ASSESSMENT: Take a moment to examine honestly: Ask Yourself!

~Have I spent so much time caring for others that I have neglected the condition of my own heart?

~Have I cared for my own heart while caring for everyone else?

~What wounds have I ignored while nurturing others?

HEART CHALLENGE: This week, allow yourself to receive the same grace, care, and compassion you so freely extend to others. Allow God to minister to the woman behind the responsibilities.

Release Unrealistic expectations  Apply the prescribed application of ointment T.I.D. (3 times daily) Each time he said, ‘My grace is all you need. The Heartbeat of a Mother’s Influence flows from the condition of her heart. ~ A healed mother helps heal generations!

“A good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart, and an evil person produces evil things from the treasury of an evil heart. What you say flows from what is in your heart.” Luke 6:45.

“Who you are and everything you do flows from the condition of your heart.” ©
