“I love those who love me, and those who seek me early and diligently shall find me.” Proverbs 8:17.
“O God, you are my God; I earnestly search for you. My soul thirsts for you; my whole body longs for you in this parched and weary land where there is no water. ”Psalm 63:1 (NLT).

We Have a Standing Invitation to Come Boldly and Confidently into the Presence of God.
Regular quiet time is an important part of Christians’ everyday life. Spending regular ‘Quiet Time‘ with the Creator can help you set the atmosphere for your day and your life. In fact, having a special time and a special place to meet God is the most vital habit a Christian can develop to grow and mature.
Years ago, when I was in Bible college and seminary, I developed a habit of getting up very early in the morning to study. It was peaceful and quiet, and I could complete whatever course of study I was doing. At the time, I did not regard it as “Quiet Time” until later when the busyness of my life robbed me of that time which was so important in my life with Christ. Later, it became obvious when my life and schedules changed and my time with God was less frequent, and my relationship with Him suffered. I experienced emptiness and frustration. I missed that quiet time of transformation through the renewing of my mind with the Word of God and prayer. Even now when I get up running to appointments or the busyness of the day and do not take time to be with God and commit the day to HIM, there is a difference in my response to the frustration, irritations, and craziness of life.
As Believers in Christ, the most important thing we can do is to know and love God. The best way to get to know God is to spend, consistent time alone with Him, in His presence, listening to Him. God created us as relational beings and He desires “alone time” with us. He wants to have an intimate relationship with us. It really all about a relationship. A relationship with God, while unlike other relationships in many ways, still follows the rules of other relationships ~ they take time. Spending time alone with a loved one provides the opportunity to truly come to know that person. It is no different with God. When we’re alone with God, we draw closer to Him and get to know Him in a different way than we do in church or other Christian functions!
The Word of God is replete with examples to help us intellectualize our relationship with God.
▪ Abraham got up early in the morning and went to the place where he stood before Jehovah God.
▪ Moses met with God alone at the burning bush and then on Mt. Sinai.
▪ David in many of the psalms reflects a self-assured knowledge with God, and in Psalm 57 communed with Him while on the run from Saul.
▪ God’s presence passed by as Elijah was in the cave.
▪ Jesus Himself spent time alone with God reflected in the writings of the Gospels. Jesus instructed us to pray to God alone at times as noted in Matthew 6:6a: “When you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen.”
We must remember our enemy delights in disquieting us. Our Savior and Helper delight in quieting our hearts. Our “Quiet Time” with God will produce a quiet heart to hear the voice of God! The Prophet Elijah knew that the sound of the gentle whisper was God’s voice.

A QUIET
HEART: Mark 1:36. “Before daybreak the next morning, Jesus got up and went out to an isolated place to pray. Later Simon and the others went out to find him. When they found him, they said, “Everyone is looking for you.” (NLT). Jesus made it a priority to have time to meet with His Father away from distractions and interruptions. If you do not spend time with God, reading and meditating on His Word, with prayer, you are open prey for Satan and you will not be equipped to avoid his fiery darts. You will be defeated! Accept God’s invitation to spend time with HIM, the Creator! HOW AWESOME!
FATHER GOD: Thank You for being our Father. We are so grateful that You provided a way for us to have an intimate relationship with You and spend time in Your presence, in the Precious, Powerful and Preeminent Name of Jesus Christ our Savior and Lord, Amen!
