“A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit saps a person’s strength. “A sound heart is life to the body, but envy is rottenness to the bones.”

Proverbs 17:22; 14:30
Early in my nursing career, I found myself observing patients with physical diseases/conditions and in my head, making a spiritual correlation. After thousands of nursing assessments and providing care to all types of patients, I began to mentally observe some direct correlations between the physical, emotional /psychological conditions and some possible related root causes. It was clear later God was preparing me for writing after the death of my husband Robert and the direct correlation between the physical, emotional, and spiritual heart.
So, what does that have to do with “Spiritual Immunity” – it has everything to with it!
First, let’s be clear, this does not mean ALL diseases/conditions have a spiritual root cause. Many conditions/illnesses are causally related to environmental or unknown factors.
Yesterday, I had my second COVID-19 vaccine and praying it will offer the physical immunity and the needed protection it was designed to provide to everyone and with no adverse reactions. The body aches and pain I am experiencing from the second injection cannot equate to the pain and suffering COVID patients have experienced.
Our responsibility is to take care of our bodies – God’s temple to stay fit and spiritually immune.
Spiritual Immunity is an exhaustive study denoting some of the root causes of many of our physical, emotional, and spiritual conditions.
The Word of God is clear on the cause of many physical conditions. Research and studies have documented many causes of Spiritually Rooted Diseases that are causally related to SEPARATION on these Three Levels:
- Separated from God and His Word, His Person, and His Love.
- Separated from Ourselves, insecurity, not accepting Ourselves, not knowing who we are in Christ, not loving Ourselves from the guilt and condemnation and His Word, His Person, and His Love!3.
- Separated from Others, purposeful division, or breaching of Relationships – Hatred, Anger, Bitterness, lack of Love, Envy, Jealousy, Competition, Covertness, Manipulation, and others!
Be mindful, the Christian life involves Hard Work. He never promised a rose garden or tiptoes through the tulips. In fact, it is a struggle because we are in a spiritual battle. It requires us to give up whatever jeopardizes our relationship with God, to run patiently, and to struggle against sin with the power of the Holy Spirit.
To live effectively, we must keep our eyes on Jesus. Be truly clear, we will stumble if we look away from God to stare at ourselves or at the circumstances surrounding us. We should be running for Christ, not ourselves, and we must always keep HIM insight for the victory only found in HIM!
