“How great is our Lord! His power is absolute, His understanding is beyond comprehension!” Psalm 147:5 (NLT)
Have You Ever Asked God WHY? Why God????? After hearing about the tragic death of Miss Monet Gauthier a member of James Barnaba and Margaret’s family and so much death across the nation, one could find themselves asking WHY God? What is going on? Why did this or that happen? Some may say, “you can’t question God.” I believe I can go to God humbly and ask Him a question! He does have all the answers.
Years ago, as a young immature Christian in my early 20’s, I asked my father, “why did God allow my mother to die? I was struggling with why God would take our mother, leaving 7 children at home who needed a mother, and my father needed a wife. My father was a Pastor and devoted to the work of God. Why God?
My father’s only answer to me was “God was Sovereign, and He has the right to do whatever He chooses to do in our lives.” I simply put his answer on the theological shelf of my mind, not understanding how to spiritually understand or digest his answer and I did not ask him for any additional information.
Over the years as a nurse and seeing many situations of death, forced me to ask questions. At some point, I began to study the Sovereignty of God and after my husband passed away un-expectingly in 2009, I took it off the theological shelf and began to revisit the doctrine of Sovereignty further.
God Is Incomprehensible; we cannot know Him completely. We can have some knowledge about him. The Bible is full of details about who God is, how we can know Him, and how we can have an intimate and eternal relationship with Him. But we can NEVER know enough to answer all of life’s questions to predict our own future or to manipulate God for our own ends.
Because we are finite, we cannot fully know an Infinite God!
The Sovereignty of God refers to the fact that God is in complete control of the universe.
NOTHING Can Compare to God! He is Omniscience ~ All-Knowing; Omnipotence ~ Has ALL Power; (Psalm 147:5) and Omnipresence ~ Everywhere At All-Time Psalm 90:2. This makes God’s Sovereignty a natural consequence. He is Responsible for the creation of everything (Genesis 1:1; John 1:1).
Life always creates more questions than we have answers, and we must constantly go to God for fresh insights into life’s dilemmas, and when He speaks, we must listen.
Rx: A MATURING ♥️ HEART
“How foolish can you be? After starting your new lives in the Spirit, why are you trying to become perfect by your own human effort?” Many times, as Christians we feel that maturing in the faith is completely up to us, as if God saves us and then expects us to do the rest. NO! We as Christians we do play a role in our own maturity. We are certainly called to obedience, and what we do matters. However, in recognizing that God is Sovereign, we also trust Him to bring us to maturity! Praise God!
Galatians 3:3
Father God, Thank You for reminding us that that we can be confident, that You have begun a good work in us and will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. Thank You for being a faithful God that whatever You have in store for us, You are going to see it through until the day of Jesus Christ. Thank You Father for being our Sovereign God and that we are in Your hands, in the Precious, Powerful and Preeminent Name of Jesus Christ or Savior and Lord, Amen!
